Joe founded and developed CPG based on over 25 years
experience as a licensed agent, broker and E&S broker. Following
a distinguished sales background at Travelers, Nationwide and Sentry
Mutual, Joe entered the brokerage side of the industry for a large national
broker before founding J.A. Maurer & Associates in 1987. CPG was
formed in 1990 to accommodate our aggressive expansion into wholesale
program development as a managing general agent/underwriter for several
national carriers. In addition, Joe has expanded CPG into a global company
that actively participates in state, national and international insurance
organizations. This focus has translated into new program opportunities,
sales distribution centers and international market access.

(ARM of PA), Board of Advisors – Target Market Program Administrators
Association, Board of Directors Associated Risk Managers International
(ARMI), Program Administrator for the Virginia School Board Association’s
Property & Casualty and Workers Compensation Pools; Faculty Member
for: Insurance Society of Philadelphia and the Insurance Institute of
America. Consultant to: Associated Building Contractors of MD, Pennsylvania
Association of Conservation Districts and Teen Challenge International.

Tim joined CPG from the reinsurance side of the industry
in New York City and Philadelphia where he spent 6 years as an officer
in the program and individual risk divisions. He dealt with primary
insurance companies, E&S companies, Managing General Agencies, Managing
General Underwriters on both a direct and brokerage basis. Prior to
his reinsurance experience, Tim spent 8 years on the commercial primary
insurance side as a Senior Underwriter for both program business and
individual accounts.
He is serving his 3rd term as President of the Casualty
Underwriters Club in Philadelphia, and is a member of the Mariners Club
and Philadelphia, Reading and Central PA Chapters of CPCU. He was Vice
President of the Central PA Chapter of CPCU, and now resides on their
board as chairperson of the speaker committee.
He received his CPCU Designation in 1994 and his
ARe Designation in 1999. In addition, he attended the College of Insurance
in New York City for Reinsurance Courses. On the primary side, he completed
the advanced multi-line schools which included both property and casualty
coverages. In the past, he was an instructor for IIA classes.

Tim spent ten years managing the Employee Benefits
and Financial Service Departments of J.A. Maurer & Associates, Inc.,
prior to being promoted to Vice President of the Employee Benefits Division
of CPG. Tim’s retail experience marketing individual and group
products is the foundation of his grass roots approach to CPG Employee
Benefits Programs. Tim’s ability to find creative solutions in
difficult market conditions was instrumental in the development of an
Employee Benefits Program endorsed by the Pennsylvania Association of
Boroughs. Prior to joining our organization, Tim was employed with Prudential
Insurance Company.

John joined CPG on March 1, 2005 as Partner, and has
over 30 years experience as a senior executive in most facets of the
property and casualty insurance marketplace. He most recently served
as President and Chief Executive Officer of PMA Capital Corporation.
John is a former Chairman of the Pennsylvania Compensation Rating Bureau,
the Reinsurance Association of America, and the Broker Reinsurer Markets
Association. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the American
Insurance Association and the Insurance Federation of Pennsylvania.
John is a CPCU and holds both a B.S. in Mathematics
and an MBA from Saint Joseph’s University, where he currently
serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
